I have a thing for books. A big thing.
In fact, one of my very favorite things to do is hangout in bookstores. It just makes me happy. I love to browse the design, food, business, & fashion sections, and I’m a huge fan of all the other stuff found in bookstores too (read: stuff to spend more money on) calendars, notebooks, magazines (coffee)! We had a massive Borders bookstore here that closed a few years ago, and I actually cried. It was my hangout. Sigh. (I know, I’m so exciting). Anyway. I do read a few books on the kindle, but I need to hold, see, read, and decorate with actual books. From a design standpoint, every room needs books, no argument. Stack them, Color code them, pile them up on the floor -whatever. Just have them. Have lots. I thought I’d share a few of the books on my radar with Chic List No. 2: Library Love. A few of these aren’t available yet (Absolutely Beautiful Things, Love Style Life, Pret-A Party), a few are new, and a few just look too fun NOT to read (Simon Doonan). All of these can by found on Amazon. I also find lots of cool old books at thrift stores – these are great for photo props, bookshelf styling, and you know, to read. Next I’m going to do a post about creative ways to decorate with books. See you soon. xo
Being a book addict myself, I LOVEE finding book lists on awesome sites. Books are versatile and you prove perfectly how well they fit everywhere!
Thanks for the suggestions!
